The next thing I knew, I was sitting in a dark room watching the live demonstration which I had already analyzed 100x times over. The security guy in front of the door waved me in as he counted the set amount of people that could enter at one time. These four hours filled my mind with thoughts of things to potentially brag about, noscopes across the map, two-for-ones, great sprees. I waited for what would be just over FOUR hours in line for the rebirth of the Chief storyline. By the time I found my there, the wait was beyond full. I was way behind and by the time I finally got through security, I could see people SPRINTING towards the Halo 4 booth. Knowing Halo 4 was there, I arrived 30 minutes early and waited for security to let people into the LA Convention Center. I got into E3 last year by sneaking in under a friends pass. Luckily, it landed in the snow, and I had to run out in my pajamas in the freezing cold to get it. My dad got really pissed at me, opened the disc tray, opened the window and threw my Halo out the window (3 stories). And the last thing, I was once playing some Halo 3 one morning and I wouldnt let my brother play, so he told my dad. IMO, I made a pretty cool map without him, until he came back and just ruined it with his "awesome" ideas. Another time I was forging on a Saturday morning with my friend when he had to eat breakfast. I still remember bashing him before he showed me the maps and I felt really bad afterwards.

He made a map on Sandbox that was a UNSC base, he made a map with a covenant cruiser, and some more but I cant remember. I remember one time one of my friends on XBL that I didnt talk to that much showed me some sick maps that he made, I was amazed. Me, my cousins, and my friends would play customs from the time we got home from school to late at night. I remember back in the days of Halo 3 (My favorite video game of all time), all I used to do was play custom games. As the leaf flutters a final time, it brushes against the sleeping butterfly. With one last snap the fiber gives out the branch begins to fall. A groan echoed throughout the woods, the death rattle of the branch. Its power was unlike anything the leaf had faced before. Without.Ī heat wave rolls over the forest, hot and unexpected. The leaf knew that without it's support, the butterfly would not survive. It's stem has almost snapped on numerous occasions, but it held together. Winds blew, putting great stress upon the leaf. As the snow grew, the leaf only grew more vibrant in contrast. So it rests in diapause.įour long months pass by. The butterfly had to fold it's wings and wait for a time when that beauty was once again needed. Before the cold its visage inspired awe, but the forest became vacant there was no need for it's beauty. Hope still remains for it's paired passengers. Death's rot has taken it, but the shredded husk still serves it's purpose. The branch bearing the last survivor has snapped, barely held up in the cold emptiness.

Why was this leaf special? In months past, it blended perfectly amid the reds and yellows in the sea of foliage.
